Hiding SYNC from SharePoint 2013

If you need to remove the SYNC option in SharePoint 2013

Go to Settings under Site Collection level and go to Search section


Under “Offline Client Availability” choose NO

Maximum Upload Size in SharePoint 2013

One of new and hidden feature in SharePoint 2013 is that you can specify the maximum upload size per file type 😉

Actually the default maximum upload is 250MB and you can modify it from central administration.

But, you can specify the this size as per file type using power shell cmdlet in MB.

$webApp = Get-SPWebApplication “http://sp2013:2000&#8221;

So I told SharePoint to allow uploading AVI files up to 500 MB.

And you can see all available file types in their sizes

You can find the connection string for SharePoint 2013 configuration database in register path, here:

“HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shared Tools\Web Server Extensions\15.0\Secure\ConfigDB”

Log Parser Path in Windows Server 2008

After installing Log Parser 2.2, you can find the logparser.exe in the following path

C:\Program Files (x86)\Log Parser 2.2

Then you can make a queries from IIS log like below query

C:\Program Files (x86)\Log Parser 2.2>LogParser “select c-ip, count(c-ip) as IPCount from C:\inetpub\logs\LogFiles\W3SVC1385076070\u_ex131221.log group by c-ip”
